Circular Hike in the Schwarzachtal
Basic Equipment
• Sturdy hiking shoes with good grip • Comfortable backpack • Sufficient water (at least 1–1.5 liters, depending on temperature and duration) • Snacks or a light meal (e.g., bread, fruit, nuts, energy bars)
Clothing (in layers!) • Breathable T-shirt • Warm layer (fleece or sweater) • Wind and/or rain jacket (weather can change quickly in the mountains) • Cap or hat, depending on the season • Gloves if it's colder

Description
We start our hike in the Schwarzachtal valley. Following a wide forest path, we reach the banks of the Gerlosbach river. The route alternates between forests and expansive meadows, always alongside the river. Along the way, there is an opportunity to stop at the cozy Astachhof snack station, where you can enjoy a light refreshment and a drink. Afterward, we continue our tour through the village of Grasegg, where we are rewarded with a magnificent view of the Gmünder reservoir. After this impressive panorama, we descend back to our starting point in a short time.
• Duration of the hike: approx. 4 to 5 hours (including breaks)
• Hiking time: 2.5 to 3 hours
• Start time and meeting point: 10:30 AM, Schwarzachtal parking lot, Gerlos-Gmünd
• Registration: by 6:00 PM the evening before
