Mountain tour Hippoldspitze & Eiskarsee
Description
The magic of a mountain lake
We take a cab from Lanersbach to the Vallruckalm (2,132 m), a rustic alpine pasture at the back of this beautiful valley basin. From here, a narrow hiking trail branches off and leads us directly to the Hippoldanger, where we can first admire the Eiskarsee lake from a distance. We hike on to the Hippoldspitze (2,642 m) and enjoy the snack we brought with us there with a magnificent panorama of the Zillertal and Tux Alps. We then make our way to the Eiskarsee, where the traces of winter can often still be seen far into early summer. On our way back we walk over the flowery Nederjoch and the Nasse Tux-Alm, before we strengthen ourselves at the Geiselhöfe. The cab picks us up and takes us back to Lanersbach.
Good to know:
Character: demanding, difficult hike (700 hm in ascent, 1,200 hm in descent).
Duration: approx. 7 hours; of which 5.5 hours are pure walking time
